History: Link

Death: (Died in Canon) Jason died helping a former god on a quest (see Trials of Apollo). He was giving his friends time to escape after having taken multiple arrows and is brought down by Caligula who stabs him twice with a spear.

What are your plans for this character in-game?
Jason will fall back on his ways as a hero, so mostly helping others come to terms with where they are and doing his best to maybe get them to a better underworld. This place doesn't seem right, so surely they're supposed to figure out...something. What that is, he doesn't know, but he'll be set on exploring and figuring it out all the same. It won't be easy, but he's stubborn. There will probably be quite a bit of coming to terms with his own death as well. Jason's death in canon was difficult for me to accept and the premise of this game seems like a fun/interesting way to explore that and maybe come to terms with the canon myself.

What aspects of this game and/or its setting are you most interested in having this character engage with? As stated above, I like the chance to deal with characters who have died. Dealing with death is hard, but it's even harder to imagine coming to terms with your own death. I want to explore that aspect through Jason, especially since he's dying so young. I also look forward to the exploration and revelation of the setting. I'm not big on jump scare/gore types of horror, but psychological dread and thrills seem to be a fun game mechanic to play with using characters who know they are dead as a jumping off point.

How does your character generally get along with other people?
Jason is used to being a leader and taking responsibility for large groups of people. This usually means he can seem a bit stand-offish while simultaneously being protective and attempting to be friendly. I'd say he's definitely the big brother type and tries to be approachable, even if others sometimes find him intimidating. He knows how to work with people and cooperate for a greater purpose, as he's been doing that in one way or another his entire life. He'll take charge when needed, but after working with other heroes for a quest he knows when to step back and let others take the lead as well.

What is your character's mental state upon entering the game?
Jason will definitely be disturbed and a bit shaken upon arrival. He's not necessarily in denial, since he received a prophecy about his death, but what he knows of the Greco-Roman underworld tells him that this is all wrong. It might even make him second-guess what he has accomplished as a hero because if THIS is where he ended up after everything he did...then what even was the point? I'd say he'll probably be a bit angry, but mostly concerned as he starts to meet some of the others who are living in Beacon as well. None of this is right and that means someone is interfering with Death...again (at least that's how he'll interpret it). It's likely he'll focus more on solving that than his own death, though of course he's the type that is going to worry about his friends back home. It's likely though that a lot of this will get bottled up and Jason won't want to talk about it much, if at all.

Skills/Abilities:
Jason Grace is a demigod, a child of Jupiter and a mortal woman, so that he is mortal but his godly parentage has given him special abilities that allow him to do things impossible to most humans. Demigods in his universe (including Jason himself) have your typical human weaknesses in that they are susceptible to death and old age. Jason also suffers from mild dyslexia and ADHD (a common ailment of his kind as they are hardwired for ancient Greek/Latin and have to focus in battle). It goes without saying that he can speak/read fluent Latin and knows a little ancient Greek as well. Jason recently found out that he was near-sighted and needs prescription lenses to help with his sight. He also carries a scent about him that attracts powerful monsters -- as they want nothing more than to fight and kill the children of the gods.

However, he is just as vulnerable as most humans and can be injured by weapons of both mortal making and immortal (i.e. celestial bronze or imperial gold, both materials used by demigods as they contain special properties that allow them to harm monsters/giants/Titans/and gods). Jason can also not use his powers/abilities infinitely. While he may be more durable, using his abilities to a large degree or for long periods of time can be taxing on him physically. Jason has been known to even pass out after using his powers too much. Demigods have been known to have dreams or visions that have meaning or significance to their lives/the future -- though typically these are played off as messages/ways of communication from the gods themselves and will unlikely come into play in this game (unless it would be convenient).

As a demigod son of Jupiter, he was trained by the Roman wolf goddess Lupa and the Legion itself at Camp Jupiter. This has honed his supernatural battle reflexes and senses -- making him quite agile and strong in battle. He's an expert in the use of both spears and swords, but also shows some talent at hand-to-hand combat and improvised weapon combat as well. Jason has shown himself to be good at holding his own against all kinds of opponents from mortals to monsters. He works especially well in a unit thank to the Roman legionnaire training he received. Jason is good at analyzing his opponents' moves in battle, picking up on their fighting style and responding accordingly. Being raised by wolves to some degree, he understands them well and was event taught an intimidation trick by Lupa herself to help get people/opponents to back down.

While he is susceptible to injury and illness, he is considerably stronger and more durable than most mortals. He also has the ability to heal faster, though usually this is helped along by godly food like ambrosia or nectar. Even so, he has some medical experience on the field of battle, able to administer first aid to his companions in a pinch.

Most of the above are general demigod abilities, Jason's real power comes from his specific lineage as a son of Jupiter, the king of the skies. Jason holds influence over the forces of weather and can control the air around him. This grants him such abilities as flight, air blasts, solidifying air, controlling wind spirits, and seeing air-based magic in use. Jason has also been known to generate storms, powerful static shocks, and even summon bolts of lighting like his dear old dad. He is even immune to electricity. However, summoning lightning and storms is especially draining for Jason and doing so too much can make him dizzy and even pass out.

Other miscellaneous skills include assistance in flying a Greek trireme and minor skills in construction repair, as learned during quests and his time at Camp Jupiter when they had to build forts/trenches.

Flaws/Weaknesses:
+ Nearsighted
+ Overly critical of himself
+ Fear of loss, failure, rejection
+ He would do anything for his friends, especially the following: Piper, Leo, Reyna, Nico, Percy, Annabeth, Hazel, and Frank.
+ He feels bound by duty and responsibility, so often this overrides pleasure or fun.
+ He's a hero, so he tends to put others before himself.

Personality: Jason Grace has received two distinct assessments of his personality. One is that he can seem hard to approach. He always seems to carry a burden about him; Jason is all too aware of the expectations placed on him and knows he has a lot to live up to. The other assessment, however, is perhaps from the person who knows him best and that is that he is far too hard on himself, but is actually a very caring and considerate person. Jason is naturally heroic and cares deeply for his friends. He's the type that will jump into a fight without thinking twice and would sacrifice his life to boot if he had to.

He is very much a natural-born leader, a trait which some might argue is inherited. All his life he's been expected to step into that role and while he may fight it at times, Jason possesses the charisma and know-how to lead any team and while he does take charge easily, he is not overbearing about it and actually tends to be very self-critical if he does something wrong, since he believes a leader should do his best to make sure all of his followers are well taken care of and happy. Jason is a very compassionate person who puts other's needs before his own. He also has a strong sense of justice and honor, always seeking the right path even if that is not always clear.

Items: Given that he fell out of the sky when he died, I'm going to say he probably dropped his sword before his final breath. Jason will arrive with only the clothes on his back, his shirt and jacket rather holy from multiple puncture wounds and a pair of glasses, likely scratched at the least.
