Backtagging: Always and forever.
Threadhopping: Also good for me.
Fourthwalling: Smash it to pieces, that is, I find a lot of amusement in dealing with this.

[IC]
Hugging this character: Super awkward. Probably won't like it unless he knows you. How about a fist bump or something instead?

Kissing this character: Probably not...I mean...he has a girlfriend.

Flirting with this character: You can try, but he might not realize what you are doing is flirting. He's a bit dense.

Fighting with this character: You can start a fight, but don't come crying to me when you end up twitching from electric shocks. Also trained in combat, so, have fun :D

Injuring this character: Minor injuries are fine, Jason can take a hit. I'd rather talk first before anything is broken or worse.

Killing this character: Not allowed.

Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: Depends on the level of invasion. Skimming the surface I don't feel like I need you to ask every time. If we're getting into deeper memories/secrets or things in that realm I'd rather discuss it first.

Abilities:
[STAGE ONE]
Jason's first abilities manifest as fairly minor shocks of electricity and gusts of wind. As far as the wind goes, it's probably enough to boost him a few feet off the ground and glide, but certainly no prolonged flights to start with. His electricity is a minor voltage and you could probably see him generating a few sparks from time to time on accident. Be careful when you touch him because you may get a minor zap, but nothing that would really hurt you (think static electricity after scrubbing your feet across the carpet). If he concentrated or intended to use his electricity it could probably partially stun someone or cause minor damage, but nothing serious. It's likely he could power something for a few minutes. Jason is only able to shock or electrocute through touch only and can not throw bolts or summon lighting, this is mainly generated through his hands (though be careful of his hair as energy likes to collect their as well). He is not yet capable of storing much electrical energy though.

CHARACTER INFO

Character Name: Jason Grace
Character Canon: Heroes of Olympus

History: Wiki Link

AU History: Jason Grace was a product of an affair between a famous actress of Kicketun Theaters and a powerful Enlightened of the upper-class elite. Rumors even circulated that his father was a descendant of a powerful Electric-type Shifter, though these may just be rumors to highlight his power and prestige. Whatever the case, it would certainly go on to explain Jason's own powers as an Enlightened (though we'll get to that). At any rate, Jason knows very little about this family since it was two years after he was born that his mother disappeared under mysterious circumstance. People who saw her last claim she left him alone at the entrance to Union before running into the Wilderness. She has not been seen since. The father, meanwhile, had many disagreements with his wife over what to do with the boy. It was decided he would be left in the care of a family-friend.

The family-friend turned out to be a strange choice, although he was low on options. You see, she was a Mightyena Shifter, once a Pokemon she had come to Union only a decade or so ago to join the humans. She had many strange mannerisms, but did not mind taking the "pup" under her care. This particular Shifter also worked as a Delver for the community and with her powerful senses could find and bring numerous items back to the surface. She was of moderate wealth and cared for Jason as if he were her own. Once he was old enough she would even take him down into the Old City with her, usually into tunnels that were a bit more well-explored. It was she that taught him a lot about Trainers and Pokemon, even going so far as to start teaching him the ways of combat and how to fend for one's self as only a Mightyena could.

Of course, he had to attend school as well. His Mightyena mom tried to encourage him to pursue a career in the field of Delving, but even at an early age Jason's eyes were always to the sky and looking out towards the Wilderness with an insatiable curiosity. Not to mention that, being a flying type, he's not very comfortable with the underground nature of the Old City.

He made a number of friends in school with his good looks and friendly nature, although his best friend was a girl he met in elementary. She was from the upper class as well, but certainly didn't act like it as she was much more interested in combat and exploration. The two eventually shared a pact that they would both become Rangers to explore and protect the world just like the Great Hero had. Childhood dreams to be sure, but even as Jason grew older he never quite forgot those dreams and promises. It seemed even more likely to come true when Jason started to realize he had the powers of an Enlightened.

While he will help his Mightyena mother on occasion, as of now he has just been recruited to the Rangers, just as he always dreamed. His hopes now lay in climbing their ranks. It should not be a problem either given Jason's prowess in battle and his powerful Enlightened abilities.

Canon Personality: Jason is naturally heroic and cares deeply for his friends. He's the type that will jump into a fight for them without thinking twice and would sacrifice his life to boot if he had to. His concern for others is often apparent and he will often. He is considered to be a nice guy, if not a little distant to others at times. Even if it may seem like he disagrees with a person he will rely on them to have his back because that's what being on a team means.

Like most demigods, Jason comes with a rather tragic past. Separated from his mother (who was going crazy) and his sister to be raised by wolves will do that to you. This topped with growing up in Camp Jupiter, being trained for war and burdened with great expectations can be very difficult. He always seems to carry a burden about him, as though he knows what others expect of him and knows he has a lot to live up to. In a way he does have a lot to live up to but at the same time Jason is very good at meeting those challenges as well.

He is a natural-born leader which is probably attributed to the fact that he is a son of Jupiter, king of the gods. All his life he's been expected to step into such a role and while he may fight it at times, Jason possesses the charisma and know-how to lead any team. While he does take charge easily, he is not over bearing about it and actually tends to be very self-critical if he does something wrong, since he believes a leader should do his best to make sure all of his followers are well taken care of and happy. Jason is a very compassionate person who puts other's needs before his own. He also has a strong sense of justice and honor, always seeking the right path even if that is not always clear. He has a strong sense of duty to back it up. Whether this is the Roman in him or simply training through the years is hard to say, but for Jason the mission/quest always comes first.

He follows his gut most of the time and it hasn't seemed to fail him yet...or at least it hasn't gotten him killed. Most of the time Jason is pretty serious, but he has been known to crack a joke every now and again, proving to have a very wry sense of humor. He is very dedicated and, despite his self-doubt, will push forward no matter what since he really doesn't know the meaning of the term 'give up.'

AU Deviation: Unlike his canon counter-part, this Jason is going to be a great deal more relaxed about things. He doesn't have the family-issues to worry about nor is he quite as burdened with the preconceived notions about what it means to be a demigod son of Jupiter. Instead, Jason can relax and be normal in a society like this since his father ISN'T a god. He is still responsible and reliable, but not to the degree he was before since he doesn't have a Legion to lead or an expectation to fulfill. Likewise, he isn't as self-critical of his decisions or conflicted about a choice between one life and another. There is no Greek/Roman divide to worry about and so Jason can be a little more light-hearted in this AU. Finally, this Jason will not be quite as disciplined. While he is still fairly serious-minded, he does not have the military background he did in canon to make him so uptight. Jason will likely have more jokes and be a little less-than-perfect, a notion that haunts him in the Original Universe but shouldn't follow him here.

Canon Abilities: Jason, like most Demigods, is able to speak and sometimes read the language of his godly parent (ie Jupiter) making him fluent in Latin. Also as the son of Jupiter, he has powers special to him that relate to his father's affinity for the sky. For one, Jason can control the winds. This means he is able to fly if he so chooses, but also is able to create blasts of air and command wind-spirits as well. He also has the ability to sense storm patterns to a degree and whenever wind-magic is being used.

His other special talent is electrokinesis which manifests itself in his ability to survive being struck by lighting for starters, as well as, being able to produce major static shocks. He can also call down lightning at will.

He is good with hand to hand combat and particularly with a lance or a sword. I imagine he has had training with other weapons as well such as bows and knives but the lance and sword seems to be his strong suit. He has a lot of fighting experience and is thus capable of lasting a long time in a fight. He doesn't just fight with a sword but likely understands difficult battle tactics and strategies. He has enhanced leadership qualities which became apparent even at a young age when people were looking to him for guidance in the legions.

Enlightened Abilities: Electric/Flying, God of War (+Steel) His third typing is very hidden for his first two evolutions and really only expresses itself in his ability to wield a sword and his amazing defense (he can REALLY take a hit). As his final evolution will show, he gains a pair of horns that will mark him as a Steel type. He doesn't really brag about the whole 'God of War' thing, because he feels like it's a bigger title than he's ready for.

Initial Ability- Jason's first abilities manifest as fairly minor shocks of electricity and gusts of wind.

First Evolution- When Jason evolves for the first time, he will undergo very few physical changes. His ears will become slightly more pointed and his eyes will start to reflect the weather (changing in color as storms approach). He will be able to store a great deal more electricity and, during storms, may accidentally attract lighting strikes to his person. Fortunately, his body has evolved enough that the electricity will either harmlessly pass through him into the ground or else be stored in his body for later use. That being said, he can also handle Electric-type pokemon without fear of being harmed himself. He can obviously generate bigger jolts of electricity. He can easily power objects for longer periods of time and could potentially knock someone out with a blast. That being said, he can now throw balls and blasts of electricity, but only within a limited range. Jason's manipulation of the wind has also increased with this evolution. He is able to generate stronger gusts of wind and lift himself higher into the air and for longer periods of time. If he lets loose, he has the potential to generate enough wind to knock people back several feet and cause minor property damage. His agility dramatically increases with this form, making his faster than the average person.

Second Evolution- Jason's final evolution stage is where things get really interesting. While he retains the pointed ears and color-changing eyes of his prior evolution, more physical changes are apparent in this last form. Jason now grows a pair of small gold horns from his head that serve as conduits for electricity and calling down lighting from the sky (they easily blend in with his blonde hair that takes on a golden sheen by this level). Black markings have also appeared on his skin, like tattoos, that follow the flow of electricity in his body and are shaped like bolts of lighting. They run up his arms, cross at his back, and can also be seen going up his neck and down to his feet. These markings glow when Jason has stored too much energy in his body and are the most sensitive part of his skin. It is dangerous to touch these markings unless Jason trusts you. Like many Electric-type Pokemon, Jason now needs an extra-appendage to help ground himself and prevent overpowering himself, he has a tail. The tail is black with a yellow tip and very similar to that of a Raichu and like that pokemon can discharge electricity through it.

It goes without saying then that Jason can handle a lot more electricity this time around, we're talking thousands of volts here. If he stores up enough his whole body can actually glow and he is more than capable of seriously injuring someone if he is not careful. Jason is practically a walking lighting rod by this point and can not only summon lighting at will but direct it at his opponents as well. Add to that his ability to control the winds and he's actually going from lightening rod to full-on thunderhead. He can create miniature storms and fly on the winds with ease.

Starter Pokémon: Fletchling (Piper); a bird he rescued when it fell out of a nest when he was a boy. It's been with him ever since and likes to ride on his shoulder or nest in his hair.

Notes/Special Considerations: None I can think of. I'd like Jason to have a sword of some kind, but that might be something he can get later.

SAMPLES
First-Person:
1. What do you feel your role in Union is?
Well, part of me is still trying to figure that out, but I recently applied as a Ranger and I'm hoping to hear back from them soon. I want to protect Union from possible threats but I also want to explore the rest of the world. I guess it sounds a little naive that I want to go on adventures, but there is a lot our world has to offer that can't be seen here in the city.

2. To what lengths would you go to rescue your allies if they were lost in the wilderness?Even if it was a dangerous area I would do what I could to help them find their way home. My allies and friends are important to me and I trust them enough that they would do the same for me if the roles were reversed. It wouldn't matter where I had to go, I would be there for them.

3. What do you do to ensure we never again awaken the wrath of the gods upon humanity?
I guess I just treat Human and Pokemon as friends. We share this world together and we can all get along, there's no need for us to fight like that any more. If we respect people and pokemon then there should be no reason for the gods to be angry with us. It's just about being kind to one another, you know?

4. What do you think your Pokémon respect most about you?
Piper? I guess she likes that I am kind to her and do everything I can to not just ensure her safety but her happiness. I mean, we bonded when I rescued her after she fell out of a nest. I imagine she respects me for that act as well. She certainly treats my head as the nest she lost...

Third-Person:
The Mightyena looked up at Jason with eyes that seemed to glint in the low light of the Old City. His mother may have been in her Pokemon form but he recognized that look well enough. It was the look she always gave him when she was getting ready to challenge him to something new. He may not have been a Kindred Spirit or a shifter, like his mother, but he had been around her practically his whole life and reading her had become like second nature. She tilted her head towards three passages that branched off from the tunnel they were currently in. She was asking him to choose. Jason noticed that all three tunnels looked remarkably similar and were simply marked with the signs that previous Delvers had used to indicate it had been explored before. It was obviously a test.

"You're getting a little too obvious with this stuff mother," Jason replied, eyeing each tunnel.

The pokemon merely snorts and paws at the ground. It doesn't really matter, does it? He needs to accept her challenge or decided what else he is going to spend his time doing today. Jason's bright blue eyes scan his choices and he points to the tunnel on the far left, "That one looks like it's been traveled down the least recently. That means we'd be more likely to encounter other Pokemon still lurking down here but also that the tunnel may not boast as many resources." He then points to the tunnel on the far right, "That one has the marking for a recent cave-in. So either you're wanting us to dig it out or avoid it so as not to damage the Old City further."
Finally, he points to the middle tunnel, "And this one has the most recent activity which means fewer pokemon encounters but perhaps more treasure to be found that hasn't been brought back up yet."

The Mightyena tilts her head. It is true Jason answered the question, but he still hasn't picked which tunnel they should go down. Jason knew he was the one that would have to decide. His mother often liked playing this game. With her senses she could often pick up what was down a given tunnel as far as other pokemon go, but Jason was in the dark about all of his options which made it more fun for her. He wasn't sure how he felt about these little tests to be honest, but no matter what happened they always got some kind of training out of it. "I'm not really feeling like manual labor today...let's go for the far left tunnel."

Jason watches as the Bite Pokemon turns her tail and heads down the tunnel he picked. Jason isn't too worried about what they might find, he's spent a number of years preparing for the Rangers and has been on more than one Delving expedition. While he hopes they'll pick up some treasure or technology along the way, the real benefit here is being able to hone his skills and work in an environment that is actually a challenge to him. He welcomes the unknown as he follows his mother down into the Old City.

AU History:
Jason Grace was born to a former TV starlet who had relations with the king of gods, Zeus/Jupiter on July 1st. The first time she did it was to have Thalia, but seven years later she met with him again in the form of Jupiter and had a second child: Jason. Because Jason was born from the Roman persona of Zeus his destiny was different than that of Thalia. It was unprecedented for a mortal to have children of both the Roman and Greek aspect of the gods so Hera/Juno, Zeus's wife, was more than a little furious (granted she was also furious because Jupiter was cheating on her again).

Jupiter, to appease Juno, gave her Jason as her own and at the age of two he was taken from his mother by Juno and given over to Lupa to be tested and trained in the Roman camp of half-bloods, Camp Jupiter. After spending some time under the wolf goddess and learning the ways of the wolf, he made his way to Camp Jupiter. He was accepted into the Legion at a very young age as he was revealed to be a Son of Jupiter which, even in the Roman Legion, was rare. He grew up with the pressure of that hanging over him, but even so was taken into the Fifth Cohort because he had no letters of recommendation.

Jason rose in rank quickly but was still greatly liked. He even managed to bring some sense of honor back to the once disgraced cohort. While he was close to almost everyone in his cohort, it wasn't until Reyna appeared in camp that he felt he had made a real friend. Jason bonded with the new recruit almost immediately. He was eventually made praetor alongside her for his battle against and slaying of the Trojan Sea Monster. Even after making praetor, Jason continues to go out on quests and fight monsters. Eventually, he takes a trip to the East coast with Reyna to find more Imperial Gold, but unfortunately because of an encounter with a "ghost" his relationship with Reyna changes (though he doesn't know why). His biggest feat to date was aiding the gods in fighting the Titans by taking on Krios and toppling Kronos's throne on Mount Othrys.

Things return to normal after that. At least as normal as life can be for a demigod. When Camp Jupiter fell, Jason was one of the last to leave. He wanted to cover the rear of the army and felt that one praetor should stay as long as possible. He did his best to stop it from falling but even he realized it was a lost cause.

So, following Juno's suggestion he headed east for Camp Halfblood. He tried to stay with other demigods, but the monster attacks forced him to separate from the main group as they were crossing the Mississippi. Jason decided to head north and see if the Midwest or even Canada was better. It wasn't. Jason had a lot of trouble in Chicago with the winds there and eventually got into New York State...where he crashed into a flesh eatting sheep pen and had to run/fly most of the way to Camp Halfblood. It was harrowing to say the least, but Jason learned to fall back on training (especially the survival stuff he learned from Lupa).

When he finally arrives at camp he's on his last leg of energy. It isn't the glorious entrance of a praetor but a demigod just trying to find a safe place
